That’s Too Bad
Host - Wally A podcast where I, Wally, an amateur golfer and fan of the game will be talking golf…plain and simple, right? You’re probably asking why another golf podcast? And I would respond…WHY NOT!? I’ll be talking about big news going on in the game of golf at the professional level and amateur level, where my own golf game is at and what I’m working on to get better each day, and my words of wisdom that I also hesitate to relay but I get asked different questions here and there so I’ll reveal my thoughts and opinions and look forward to see who all would agree or disagree. I don’t know everything about golf and maybe my thought process is wrong sometimes which is where I hope others can get me back on the right track. I also look to have a guest on the podcast to bring us insight, knowledge, and much more to this podcast and the golfer fans out there. So…with that being said, let’s go low!

On this mini episode of That's Too Bad, Wally asks one question; what happened to Talor Gooch? Why is this being asked? Because in 2024 Talor Gooch makes headlines for comments he makes prior to the Masters and if Rory wins. Well Rory did not win then but won this year and..... Talor Gooch has been quiet. Why? Nothing has changed since 2024. Wally is not really attacking Talor but more diving in what happened back in 2024, why it was probably not warranted, and why have we not seen or heard much from in early in 2025 season. Plus, Wally continues to question if a LIV and PGA merger happens any time soon. All this on a mini episode. And as always...let's go low!

On this episode of That's Too Bad, Wally goes back a bit as it has been a few months since recording and covers the drama at Augusta this year with the Masters. From the unlikely Justin Rose leading after day 1 to Rory dominates day 2 and 3. And the dominate surge by J. Rose to push Rory into a playoff but ultimately Rory prevails and achieves the Career Grand Slam by winning his first green jacket. From there we jump a month forward to the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and what a ride this second major was. After day 1 we had a leaderboard not like any other we have seen in recent years with unlikely names that could make their stamp in major history. From rainy and soft conditions, the first two days, to sunny skies and firm greens day 3 and day 4. Scottie shows the world once again why he is the #1 golfer in the world after a surge on Saturday and holding off a group of golfers aiming to take him down Sunday. Scottie conquers the Green Mile while others became victim, and Scottie is our PGA Champion in 2025. Wally brings us another tip in the Amateur Golf Corner where he breaks down the significance in establishing a pre-shot routine no matter the skill level in your golf game and how this will alter your golf game for the better. Don't miss out! Give us a like, give us a follow, and as always...let's go low!

Friday Jun 21, 2024
On this episode, Wally goes way back to the PGA Championship with Xander's close out round on Sunday to win his first major. Scottie gets arrested on his way to the PGA day two. And his take on why the low scoring did not bother him because major golf should have many in contention and come down to the final hole. We go back and talk about Bryson DeChambeau's awesome victory at Pinehurst #2 for the 124th US Open and Rory's missed putt on the 18th hole. We talk about how Bryson has been firing on all cylinders all year, how good he has been for the game of golf, and how Rory storming off because he lost was not a good look for him. Wally covers some funny story lines with Charley Hull and Boo Weekley. And we cover something that is difficult to speak on, the death of Grayson Murray, and his struggle with mental illiness.

That’s Too Bad - Episode 004 - Masters Hangover
Wednesday May 08, 2024
Wednesday May 08, 2024
On this episode, Wally goes back a few weeks to an exciting Masters Tournament and talks about the good, the bad, and even the ugly we all saw that week. Highlighting certain players (Scheffle, Homa, Aberg, DeChambeau, Tiger, and amateur Shipley) that shined in different ways during the Masters. Also, the conditions we saw either in person or on tv that the players had to battle through, especially the first two days. Wally also goes back a month or so to a comment Wyndham Clark makes about the state of golf and the format he would like to see it go towards. See if Wally agrees with Wyndham or not! You know we had to circle back to our favorite Korn Ferry caddy, JP Burke, and check in how him and Austin Hitt have been doing lately. Wally rounds out the episode with changes amatuer/weekend golfers try to make during a round that they should not try to do until they can work on them on the range. He also does mention a couple minor tweaks to make when a swing may not be going well during the round that won't hurt the game. Wally covers what his four quick adjustments/tips are. Hopefully they may help your next round of golf! Cause at the end of the day we all want TO GO LOW!
